Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. – Psalm 45:6 (AMP).
A scepter is a rod or wand borne in the hand as an emblem of regal or imperial power. God’s emblem of His power is righteousness.
What did our righteous God do? He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us, to be punished for all our sins, so that we could be in right-standing with God.
He showed off His power by making us righteous through the shed blood of Jesus (II Corinthians 5:21).

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. – Colossians 2:9
In us, is not only the Holy Spirit, not only Jesus, but God the Father as well. Think about that. God Himself came to live inside of us. He dwells in us.
Contrary to popular belief, God doesn’t leave us when we sin because once we are in Christ, once we accept Christ, we are righteous (II Corinthians 5:21). We are covered by the blood of Jesus, and God sees our sin no more. Isn’t that awesome?

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. – John 8:12
Once we have accepted Christ, we no longer walk in the darkness. Not even if we sin. We are people of the light who mess up. We are not sinners again. We are separate from our sin.
People who are in the darkness may occasionally do something right but that does not make them righteous and in right standing with God.
Only accepting Christ makes us righteous (II Corinthians 5:21). Nothing more. Nothing less.

Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: – I Corinthians 1:6
By accepting Christ, we each have a testimony of Christ. We need to share that testimony with those we know because the Word says in Revelation 12:11 that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb, which is Jesus, and the word of our testimony.

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. – Acts 20:35
God blesses us to be a blessing. We are not to shun the poor or the weak. We are to support them, to help them, because we are not supporting human beings. We are supporting God. We are doing it for Him, to further His Kingdom. If we support and help the least among us, we are helping God.

Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;) – I Kings 8:39
Aren’t we glad that God does not deal with us according to our ways? According to our sins? Once we accept Christ, God sees us as righteous through the blood of Jesus. He no longer bases our righteousness on us but on Jesus.

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. – Psalm 107:28-29
No matter what is raging in our lives, no matter if we created the storm or not, if we cry to God in our troubles, He will bring us out of our distresses.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. – II Corinthians 4:6
When God’s light shines through us who have accepted Christ, those of us who have been brought into the light, it is like a spotlight that points to the cross, that points to what Jesus did for us.

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43:19
Even in the wilderness, even in times of famine and economic crisis, God will make a way where there is no way, God will provide for us, if we will just trust Him.

Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. - Isaiah 35:4
God is calling us out of fear. He is calling us to be strong. God loves us, and He wants to take fear out of our lives. Why? Because with fear comes torment.
If you have ever had a panic attack or an obsessive thought, you know fear, and you know how your mind is stuck on one thought. Like a dog with a bone, it won’t let go. And the more you think about that thought, the more fear builds inside you.
That is the torment and torture of fear. That is why God wants us to lean on Him to take care of us instead of us taking care of ourselves.
When we base our security on us, we fail. When we base our security on Him, we win.
