God’s Or Yours?

Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. – 2 Chronicles 20:15

I was in a situation for years that as much as I tried, I couldn’t get myself out of it without reason fear of someone getting hurt (which someone did anyway).

I kept having to remind myself that the battle didn’t belong to me, that it belonged to God.

I had to remind myself that no matter what my circumstances looked like God was still in control. And even though I am out of that situation, I still have to constantly remind myself of this. What about you?

Old Or New?

“I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” – Matthew 12:36-37

Is this under the Old Covenant? Or under the New? If you stated under the New because it is in the New Testament, you would be wrong.
It is placed in the New Testament, yes, but the Bible should be divided by the Cross. Jesus hadn’t died yet, making this part of the Old Covenant.
Why is that important?
Because Jesus took all our sins. He took the punishment for all our sins, so we would never have to feel the wrath of God against us ever again.

Are You Holding Up?

Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. – Acts 12:5

How often do we as a church hold people up in prayer? Too many times we refuse to pray if they are going through a hard time for too long. Too many times we give up on those who really need our prayers to make it through a tough time. We need to spend more time lifting people up in prayer instead of giving them advice, teaching them lessons or letting them fend for themselves.

What Does It Mean To You?

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. – John 3:16

When did this Scripture become real to you? For me, it was just a few years ago. I accepted Christ at nine, but for most people, John 3:16 means little other than that Jesus died for them.

Let me tell you what it means to me: it means that God Himself took on human form, was born and died, living a sinless life. Because there is no way I could pay for my sins except to die, He died for me. He took the punishment and wrath for my sins. He died for those He created. He gave His life for me. It means that I am righteous because I am washed in Christ’s blood–not once until I sin again but forever. Only Christ’s blood makes me righteous.

That’s what John 3:16 means to me. What does it mean to you?

Are You PC?

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! – Isaiah 5:20-21

These are the times we are living in. Politicians and the PC people call what is good evil and evil good. They call things that are specifically mentioned as wrong in the Bible as right, and according to them, we are wrong to believe the Word. But we must be willing to take a stand for what we believe no matter what.

Called? Chosen?

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen – Matthew 20:16

Are you merely called? Or are you chosen? I Peter 2:9 says that we are chosen generation. We are not merely called but chosen to do the work God has assigned us in these last of the last days.

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. -John 20:29

We know this verse. We know that seeing is not believing. We know that when we believe, we will see, but too many times we don’t totally believe. We don’t trust God enough. We think that this one time He won’t come through for us. That is against God’s character. If we believe, He will come through every time.

Are You Chewing On The Word?

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. – Proverbs 31:25 (KJV)

We do not focus on the principle thing. What is it? Wisdom. This Scripture says that strength and honor are wisdom’s clothing, and she shall rejoice in time to come. We don’t see meditating on the Word as a principle thing, but it is the way to get wisdom. When we chew on the Word, repeating Scriptures over and over again to ourselves, we gain not only wisdom, but belief grows inside us. When that belief matures, we will have all the answers we need.

Too Much To Bear?

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV

It has seemed in my life that I was given much more than I could bear.

I seem so normal, so well-adjusted now that people forget where I came from and how far I’ve come in the last six months alone.

It is only by the grace of God because I couldn’t handle the abuse in my own strength. It is only by the grace of God that I survived and am here to tell my story…the story of God’s miracle-working power.

Mortal? Immortal?

God is willing to heal. Jesus took stripes on His back to guarantee our healing. Not in the sweet by and by. No, Romans 8:11 says in our mortal bodies. These are our mortal bodies. God wants to heal us. Stand on the Word for the healing of your body, your finances and your mind today.
