Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. – I Corinthians 15:34.
The more we focus on our righteousness in Christ, the less we will sin. The more we focus on Jesus and what He did for us, the more we will do what is right with no effort on our own part.

In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. – Ephesians 3:12
We can approach God without fear and trembling. Through the awesome blood of Jesus, we can approach our God as we would our earthly father (or how we are supposed to approach our father since some of us approach him with fear and trembling). We are to approach Him with freedom and confidence like children who love their Dad.
Children don’t keep asking Daddy for the same thing when they know Daddy promised it.
They keep talking about how they already have it, as if it were a done deal.
“Daddy, it is going to be so fun when we ride the roller coaster. I think I will ride the roller coaster first, then have some ice cream…,” they say.
We should be like that with God. What He promises, we need to consider a done deal.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. – 2 Corinthians 5:21.
Christ was made sin for us, so that we could be in right standing with God.

If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. – Galatians 6:3
When we think we are something, there is only one person we deceive and that’s ourselves. We are something in Christ but not because of our works. They don’t impress God. It is Jesus’ blood on the cross that makes us something. It took nothing people like us and made us something. It took worthless people and set them up at the King’s table. How marvelous is that?

Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ. – Acts 28:31
We have to quit our excuses about why we cannot preach the kingdom of God within our own sphere of influence. We have opportunities every day to show the love of Christ to someone, to help out people on our block, in our church and in our neighborhood and yet most of us don’t. Why? Because we are focused on us and not others.

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. – Deuteronomy 7:9
God will keep His covenant with us. He is faithful even when we are unfaithful because He is faithfulness and cannot go against His nature.

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. – Hebrews 13:6-8
What can man do to me? He can kill me, destroy my finances, make me sick, but he cannot take away my God’s love, my eternal security nor can he change God. What God did for the people in the Bible, He has to do for me because He never changes.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”- Hebrews 13:5
The love of money is the problem not the money itself. Why? Because the love of money causes us to steal from our brother, to kill our father, to destroy the lives of our friends and fellow human beings. When money becomes our god instead of the Living God, money becomes the one we worship.

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. – 2 Thessalonians 3:3
The Lord is faithful. He strengthens you. He protects you from the evil one. We try so hard to protect ourselves from a defeated foe, but all we need to do is let God protect us from him. All of our resources are wrapped up in God not ourselves.

God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. – 1 Corinthians 1:9
God is faithful. Think about that for a moment. I think that is the core problem in the Body of Christ. It is not the bills, the sickness, the marital problems. It is that we don’t believe God is faithful to His Word. But this Scripture says that He who called you into fellowship with Jesus is faithful. All we have to do is believe it, take it at face value, have confidence in it.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus had all authority, and He gave it to you. When He told you to go and make disciples, He gave you authority on this Earth. And whether you stand up and take that authority determines whether you are a doormat for the devil or champion for God.
