The Burden Of Being Blessed

And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you – Deuteronomy 28:2

Jesus died to give you everything that pertains to life and godliness.  He died to bless you.

Under the Old Covenant, before Jesus died, the burden of being blessed rested solely on us being good enough, earning them through obeying every law and commandment of God.

However, under the New Covenant, the covenant wasn’t made between us and God.  It was made between Jesus and God.  The burden of us being blessed now rests solely with Jesus’ perfect work on the Cross.

When we accept what Jesus did for us, we become righteous in God’s sight, through Jesus’ shed blood, we also become in Christ.  Everything that Jesus is entitled to, we are now entitled to.

We are blessed by God not because of our effort but because of what Jesus did for us.

Instead of trying to earn our blessings, we need to focus on Jesus’ finished work and accept our blessings through Him.

Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?  Do you believe Jesus died to pay the price for your sin?  That He was raised from the dead?  Then just pray aloud, “Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins.  Come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour.”  If you believed in your heart and confessed with your mouth, you are Born-again.  Let us know if you prayed this prayer.
