The Purpose Of The Law

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin. – Romans 3:20

The law is the knowledge of sin.  Do you know what the purpose of the law was?  Do you know why God gave us the law?

Let me take you back to the children of Israel.  They believed that they were fine.   They believed that they could be holy and righteous a part from God.  He gave them the law to show them their need for a Saviour.

No one, except Jesus, can keep the entire law, which is more than just the Ten Commandments.  This is why we needed Jesus because no one can be justified by the law in and of themselves.  They need Jesus, who did fulfil the law, died in our stead and makes us righteous and holy through His shed blood.

Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?  Do you believe Jesus died to pay the price for your sin?  That He was raised from the dead?  Then just pray aloud, “Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins.  Come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour.”  If you believed in your heart and confessed with your mouth, you are Born-again.  Let us know if you prayed this prayer.
