In His Likeness

Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. – Genesis 1:26

We are made in God’s image.  When you look in the mirror, do you see yourself as made in the image of God?  Or do you pick out everything you hate about yourself?

This Scripture tells us that we are made in God’s image, so in essence, when we say that we don’t like something about ourselves, we are putting down how God made us.  We are putting down God.

The next time you go to the mirror and are tempted to nitpick your appearance, ask yourself, “Would I tell God that about His appearance?”

Instead pray that God would help you to love yourself as He loves you.

Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?  Do you believe Jesus died to pay the price for your sin?  That He was raised from the dead?  Then just pray aloud, “Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins.  Come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour.”  If you believed in your heart and confessed with your mouth, you are Born-again.  Let us know if you prayed this prayer.
