Supernatural Means, Natural Results

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; – 1 Corinthians 1:27

God uses the foolish things to confound the wise.

This reminds me of Miracle On 34 Street.  The mother tells the daughter Susie that faith is believing when your common sense tells you not to.  The little girl says about the house she is believing for, “I believe.  I believe.  It’s silly, but I believe.”

Many times our circumstances and our common sense can get in the way of us believing  what God says…in His Word and to our spirit.  We focus on what can be done in the natural realm, but God doesn’t do things in the natural.  He does things in the supernatural.  It may appear in the natural, but God starts things in the supernatural.

Even though He fed the 5000 with fish and loaves, the multiplication started in the supernatural.  Although He fed the Israelites in the wilderness with manna, He started the miracle in the supernatural.  He fed Elijah through natural ravens, but who told the ravens to feed Him?

God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.  The wise say a person who has cancer can only be cured by natural means.  Our God says that a cancer patient can be healed by Jesus’ stripes at the Cross.

Thank God that our God is a God of supernatural means and miracles.

Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?  Do you believe Jesus died to pay the price for your sin?  That He was raised from the dead?  Then just pray aloud, “Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins.  Come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour.”  If you believed in your heart and confessed with your mouth, you are Born-again.  Let us know if you prayed this prayer.
