Focus On What Is Right With You

Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. – 1 Corinthians 15:34.

This is not the doctrine that is being taught in the church.  The doctrine in the church is that we must focus on our sins, confess them one by one, examine ourselves, judge ourselves.

The problem with this doctrine is that the more you focus on something, the more you do it.

Paul writes that we should awake to righteousness.  We should awake to the fact that through Jesus’ shed blood, we are in right standing with God, holy and acceptable to Almighty God.  That is what is right with us.

If we would focus on that instead of our sins, which were forgiven once and for all, past, present and future, at the cross, we would do more right things…and feel less condemned.

Have you received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?  Do you believe Jesus died to pay the price for your sin?  That He was raised from the dead?  Then just pray aloud, “Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins.  Come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour.”  If you believed in your heart and confessed with your mouth, you are Born-again.  Let us know if you prayed this prayer.
