He Gave Us Life, So We Could…

Sometimes, I remember quotes from movies, and I think about how that quote can relate to God or our spiritual lives.

In the Big, Fat, Greek Wedding, Maria, the main character Toula’s mother says to her the night before the wedding, “I gave you life, so you could live.”

And that is what God did, He gave us life, so we could live.  Not just once but twice.  He gave us life when we were born through our natural mothers, but He also gave us life through His Son Jesus dying to take away our sins–past, present and future–so that we might have eternal life, so that we might have life and life more abundantly.

Now it is up to us how we live that life.  Whether we live it God’s way or our way.
