I was watching the Bernstein Bears on our local PBS station one Sunday morning because someone in our house just had to watch it.
The mother said something like, “When a job is too big for cubs to do, that’s when it becomes the grow-ups’ job.”
That’s what it is like with our relationship with God. When something is too big for us to handle, God wants us to hand it over to Him. Then it becomes His job.
Can you imagine, though, one of your children coming to you with their problem and then having them come back several minutes later to retract your help?
That’s what we do with God. We give Him our problems, then we retract His help by working on it ourselves.
Most of the time, it is not because we don’t have enough faith or belief but because we didn’t see an instant solution to our problem.
We think that God forgot about it, that God won’t come through for us.
We need to learn to leave our problems with Him and trust that He will take care of them because He cares for us.
