Commit To Trust

Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. – Psalms 37:5

The word commit here (Hebrew transliterated word galal) means to roll away.

Thy way is the Hebrew transliterated word derek, which means way, road, distance, journey, manner, direction, habit, of course of life, of moral character .

You are to roll away your path, your journey, your life toward the Lord.

However this Scripture, adds another element.  Trust.  It says “trust also in Him.”

What does that word trust mean?  It is the Hebrew transliterated word batach.  It means to have confidence, be confident, to be bold, to be secure.

Pastor Melissa Scott likes to say that faith is an action based on a belief sustained by confidence.

Most people are doing the action based on the belief, but they do not have confidence that God will do what He said He would do.

They bring up their sin when as Born-again Believers, they are spotless, blameless and righteous in God’s sight through the shed blood of Jesus.

They are also focused too much on their circumstances and not enough on Jesus and what He did on the Cross for them.

You must commit your life to God and have confidence that He will come through for you no matter what because of the shed blood of Jesus.

This Scripture promises that when you do these two things that God will bring what He promised to pass.
