Hold Your Peace

And Moses said unto the people,  Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD,  which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day,  ye shall see them again no more for ever.   The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.  – Exodus 14:13-14

This is another Scripture that has been a comfort to me recently.  If I stand still, I will see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show me today.

Today that is a great comfort to know that God starts answering your cry for help today.  He starts turning things around today.  I may not see the manifestation today, but He starts working the moment I cry out to Him.

It says that we will see the salvation of the Lord.

What is the salvation of the Lord?  The word salvation here is the Hebrew transliterated word y@shuw`ah {yesh-oo’-aw}.  It means salvation, deliverance, welfare, prosperity, victory.

So you see whatever is the enemy in your life, whether it be your finances, health, lawsuits, your kids.  If you stand still and trust in God, you will see the salvation of the Lord.

But what does it mean to stand still?  It is the Hebrew transliterated word, yatsab {yaw-tsab’}.  It means to place, set, stand, set or station oneself, present oneself, take one’s stand, stand, present oneself, stand with someone.

Standing means that we take the Scripture, our weapon, and take a stand on what it says.  We decide in our minds that God’s Word is the truth.  Everything else merely facts.

We have to take a stand to believe only what God says.  Not what our bills, symptoms or doctors say.  We have to stand on the Word.  It is the only thing that will see us through.
