Partakers Of The Covenant

With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. – 2 Chronicles 32:8

The battle is not ours but God’s.

The covenant on the Cross was not made between man and God as the covenant of the Old Testament.  Our covenant was made between God and Jesus.

Jesus fulfilled all the commandments and ordinances and conditions of the promises for us as a man.

Then when we accept Christ, we are in Christ and are then heirs of the covenant.

Did we fulfill the conditions of it?  No.  We are just the recipients.  We reap the benefits.

Is it based on our performance?  Is it based on what we do and don’t do right?  No because it is based on Jesus.

Why is the battle not ours but God’s?  Because God fights the battles of those who have a covenant with Him.  And we do.  We are in Christ, which makes us partakers of  Jesus’ covenant with God.
