How Much Does God Love You?

And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. – John 17:22-23

God loves us as God loves Jesus.  That is a hard concept to accept because Jesus is perfect.  Jesus is God.

It’s like having four children and adopting another child.  Once that child is adopted, he is your child,  and you treat him just as you do the other children.

You don’t love your biological children more than your adopted child.

And God doesn’t love Jesus more than He loves us.  Or us more than He loves Jesus.

Had Jesus been the sinner and us the perfect ones, God would have sacrificed us for Him.

That’s how much God loves us.  He sacrificed Jesus, His perfect Son, so all of us could be reconciled to Himself, brought into His family.
