Who Do You Believe?

And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.  – Matthew 15:27

This woman needed her demon-possessed child healed.  She was not a Jew.  Jesus, at this point, only came to the Jews.  Yet this woman didn’t care.  She knew Jesus could heal her daughter.  This woman persisted with Jesus, convinced that if Jesus would just take pity on her that He would heal her daughter.

It wasn’t pity, though, that caused that daughter to be healed.  It was the fact that this woman believed that Jesus could heal her daughter and wouldn’t let up until He did.  She wouldn’t take “no” for an answer.

And we shouldn’t either.  Even though it is a done deal for us and it’s not God we have to convince about our needs being met, we have to have the determination of this woman to believe God over our circumstances each and every time.
