Your Purpose Is Calling

Do You Rest In The Crucified?

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. (Hebrews 4:11 NKJV)

Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?

I was listening to a bluegrass version of Are You Washed In The Blood? on my I-Pod. The words–on the screen. And those words–do you rest each moment in the Crucified?–stood out to me.

How many times can we say that we are resting in what Jesus died to purchase for us at the Cross?

How many times do we think about and really look at what Jesus did? He, God, the Creator of the Universe, sent Himself to Earth to be born of a virgin. He, God, the Creator, gave His life for His creations.

But that was Jesus, I hear some of you saying. Yes, but Jesus is a part of the Godhead, is He not? Jesus is all man and all God, is He not?

That was God on that Cross. It was God dying in your place.

Imagine this. God has a standard that is way beyond anything a mere human can attain, even now. And because we can never be at that level, He becomes one of us, keeps that impossible standard, and then takes our punishment for not meeting that standard–death.

He literally laid His life down for us. Mohammad can’t say that. Allah can’t say that. Buddha can’t say that. Gandhi can’t say that. Only the True and Living God can say that.

Rest in what He did for you. Meditate on it, and you will find yourself so overwhelmed with love for the Father that you will want to give back to Him with you r talents, gifts and abilities.
