having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. (Colossians 2:14 NIV)

The nails that held Jesus to the Cross are significant because they weren’t little nails, they were big, stake nails.

Jesus willingly endured the pain of being nailed to the Cross to take your place, to die for your sins.

He endured the pain because He loved you.

But something else was nailed to the Cross that day–the sin, the legal indebtedness, that stood between you and God.

Sin no longer stands between God and you.  Only you and your refusal to come to Him does.
