Unrest In Your Mind?
And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground -.Luke 22:44
The blood of Jesus.
Think about this: He didn’t start shedding His blood at the cross. He started shedding His blood in the Garden. Why is that important? It is important because Jesus shed His blood for our mental confusion, our mental torment, long before He took our sins, took our punishment.
This is significant because it indicates, to me, that Jesus first concern was whether we are at peace in our minds. When we are peaceful in our minds, we are able to accept what Jesus did a whole lot easier.
I know I used to have a more pronounced case of a panic disorder and OCD. My mind would get stuck on one thought…and no amount of reason could change it.
Jesus wanted us to have peace in our minds, so we could see clearly all He did for us.
