Do You Mean Yes?

And above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath. But let your “Yes” be yes and your “No” be no, so that you may not fall into judgment. – James 5:12 (NET)

God dropped this into my spirit because I don’t say no when I should.

I changed my hair color, going from brunette to blond.  Only a side reaction happened.  Guys started hitting on me.

Unfortunately, I have trouble saying “No, you can’t have my number” or “No, I don’t want to go out with you.”

This, as you can imagine. has led to some real problems like me holding conversations with guys that I am not interested in.

God pointed out to me that I was playing games with their affections, their feelings.  And it was disrespectful.

He wants my yes to be yes…and my no to be no.  And that’s what I choose to do.

Take the “Let-your-no-be-no” challenge with me today.  Let your yes be yes and your no be no in every area of your life.
