Are You Listening?
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ – Jeremiah 33:3
I read a message on Facebook that said that prayer was not about getting an answer but about getting ahold of God.
First of all, God is always with you. Even if He feels far away, He is right there with you every second of every day. He is only one breath away.
There is no operator message saying, "The number you have reached is no longer in service."
God hears you when you speak, every time you speak.
Second, God and I are supposed to be in a relationship, right? So if you call your best friend and are talking, but your friend isn’t answering, you would think something is wrong, right?
Relationships are a two-way street. If one party does all the talking, there is something definitely wrong.
The Bible says "Call upon Me, and I will answer you."
God spoke through prophets and priests during the Old Testament, but our new covenant eliminates the middle person and allows us to hear from God for ourselves.
If you call, God listens…and will answer. I challenge you in your talks with God to do more listening than you do talking. 🙂
