Are You Like Zacchaeus?

What is the difference between Zacchaeus (Luke 19) and the man who came to Jesus asking how to have eternal life (Matthew 19)?

The rich man was works-oriented. What must I do to be saved? When Jesus saw this, He presented this man with the law. But according to this man, he kept them all. He couldn’t see his own sin.

He believed that right living leads to right standing.

Zacchaeus, however, saw his sin and believed only that Jesus could save him.

He believed right, and an interesting thing happened. He decided to make amends for what he stole from people. Jesus didn’t ask him to.

His right believing led to right living. He automatically did the right thing.

Believing right will take you further than your own self-efforts. Depend on Jesus to help you in every area of your life. 🙂
